Holy Trinity Church is a simple and beautiful Church designed by James Savage. It was built 175 years ago (1828 – 1830). Savage modelled the church on on Kings College Chapel Cambridge. After a fantastic effort by the whole congregation, who raised over £40,000, and support from many Trusts the first phase of the project focused on stonework and roof repairs and cleaning of the external brickwork, the first phase of the project is complete.

We take this opportunity to thank the Alan Evans Memorial Trust, the All Churches Trust, the David Knightly Charitable Trust, Pride of Place Award, the Edmonton Area Council, London Diocese, the Garfield Weston Foundation, the Gatliff Trust, Haringey Community Chest (the Scarman Trust), Heritage Lottery Fund, the Heritage of London Trust, the Historic Churches Preservation Trust, the Manifold Trust and Haringey Councils as part of their project to regenerate Tottenham High Road.

This work has secured the shell of the building by making the roof and walls weather proof.

We have also repaired the internal plaster work

We have restarted the clock. The face has been refurbished to restore its appearance.

Cleaning the white brick external walls - work complete. See the result

An anonymous donor has given £20,000 towards the cost. Thanks to the Garfield Weston Foundation, the Gatliff Trust and Haringey Council the funds have been raised to cover the cost.

After, as demonstrated by a test patch

The church is built largely with white Suffolk Brick. The building appear a yellow/cream colour as it was when first opened 175 years ago. Removing the dirt and grime of 175 years of London air pollution has restored the appearance of the brick walls to their former glory. Now cleaned the bricks will remain clean for decades, thanks the cleaner atmosphere in London. The cleaning makes a lasting contribution to the conservation of the historic environment of Tottenham Green, the heart of the old Tottenham Borough.

Thank you

Thank you very much for your support. We are most grateful.

Continuing on our Journey

We have started our journey but we have further to go.

We have a vision. We have a mission. Over the past three years the community of Holy Trinity has come to realise that it is the custodian of a beautiful and historic building. It is one of the finest buildings in Tottenham.

Our spirits are high. We are united by our determination to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and our mutual respect and love for one another. We are, indeed, a loving and caring community who worship within the low tradition of the Church of England.

Our church architect, Mr Patrick Crawford of Caroe & Partners has provided professional leadership to our large, active and ethnically diverse church community. We also thank Steve Scammell of Sawyer and Fisher our Quantity Surveyor and Phil Dove of Grangewoods our main contractors.
